Foreign Minister of Salvation Government Mohammed Al-Ghirani held talks at MOFA HQs in Misrata with the Turkish Consul Şenol Sevim over the latest measures by the Turkish government to impose visa on Libyan travellers.

Al-Ghirani said his meeting with the Turkish Consul aimed at facilitating movements of both countries' nationals.

"We proposed the Turkish side to grant permission to some tourist agencies to ease congestion at the consulate in Misrata." He said.

Sevim promised to study these proposals with the Turkish Foreign Ministry very soon.

Meanwhile, The Turkish Consulate said the visa process will take up to a month. Libyan applicants have to pay LYD 70 for the visa while the cost of visa for foreigners is USD 60.

Last month, the Turkish government annulled a joint a memorandum of understanding signed with the Libyan side in 2009 and reimposed visa on Libyan nationals after it was cancelled as per the MOU.
