Minister of Interior Khaled Mazen has discussed with British Ambassador to Libya Nicolas Hopton prospects for joint security cooperation during the latter's visit to the ministry on Wednesday.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Technical Affairs, Faraj Aqaim, Director of the Department of Relations and Cooperation, Salah al-Din bin Suleiman, and the head of the political department at the British embassy, James Trend have also attended the meeting, as stated by the Interior Ministry on Facebook.
Minister Mazen stressed the depth of relations between the two countries and praised the ambassador's efforts during his tenure in Libya.
For his part, Hopton reiterated the importance of cooperation between the two sides, expressing the UK's readiness to cooperate in several areas.
He also commended the Interior Ministry for its plan to secure the upcoming elections.
