The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected Intermittent rain to continue to fall across most areas of the northwest today. Moderate to heavy rainfall will continue in the afternoon in the Nafusa Mountains and their southern area, the al-Uraban, Gharyan, Tarhuna, Mislata, Bani Walid, Mizda al-Qurayyat, and south of Zliten. These showers are accompanied by thunderstorms, causing water to pool in low-lying areas and flooding in some local valleys. Thunderstorms also affect some areas of the southwest and central regions (Ghadames, Hamada, Shwerif, Darj, some areas of Jufra, and Zillat al-Fuqaha), which may cause some valleys to flow.
In its daily bulletin, the NCM expected clouds to increase from time to time in the northeast, the Green Mountain, and the south, interspersed with thunderstorms. Temperature will drop significantly across most parts of the country starting tomorrow.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Monday, April 07, 2025, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Jafara Plain - Nafusa Mountain (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Intermittent rain will continue to fall in the Ras Jadir, Sirte, the Jafara Plain, and the Nafusa Mountains, accompanied by thunderstorms in most areas. These showers will be moderate in intensity. Heavy rain is expected this afternoon in some areas (the Nafusa Mountains, Bani Walid, Gharyan, Al-urban, Mislata, Tarhuna, Mizdah, and Al-Qurayyat), as well as in some areas extending from Tripoli to Sirte. This will cause water to pool in low-lying areas and potentially cause some local valleys to overflow.
- Wind: Moderate to brisk north to northeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranges in most areas between (14-20°C).
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Partly cloudy over the Gulf region, the Benghazi Plain, and Emssad , with scattered showers. Rain may be good in the interior regions and the southern Green Mountain, and in some areas extending from Benghazi to Derna, accompanied by thunderstorms.
- Wind: Moderate to brisk northwesterly to northeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranges between (18-24 °C), a marked drop expected tomorrow, especially in the Green Mountain region.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: There is still a chance of thunderstorms in the areas of Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames and Hamada, especially today in the areas of (Ghadames - Daraj - Hamada - Shwerif- Hun - Al-Harouj - Zalla - Al-Fuqaha) It may be good in some of these areas, causing floods and the flow of some valleys.
- Wind: Northwesterly to northeasterly, moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (25-32°C), it is not expected to exceed (21°C)) in Hun, and a marked decline expected to be recorded from tomorrow in most areas.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazerbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds expected to increase today over the oases, Sarir, Tazerbo and Kufra regions, especially the areas of (Marada - Jalu - Jaghbub), with the possibility of scattered rain.
- Wind: Variable, turning southeasterly, light to moderate in speed today. It will be active tomorrow in Kufra and the surrounding areas, causing dust and sand to rise.
- Temperature: Ranging between (32-37°C), expected to decline as of tomorrow.
