The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected Monday moderate to heavy rain in the western regions of the country, accompanied by thunderstorms, including some areas of the southwest as of the evening today.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Monday, December 16, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Rain is expected to fall from time to time, moderate in intensity in most areas and heavy in the regions (from Ras Jadir to Sirte and the interior regions) accompanied by thunderstorms, which caused water to accumulate in low places and some valleys to flow. NCM Cautioned that care must be taken.
- Wind: Northwesterly, moderate to active in speed in some coastal areas.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (13-17°C).
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Partly cloudy, increasing from this evening with scattered rain falling on the coast extending from Benghazi to the Green Mountain, and it will be good in the Gulf areas on Wednesday.
- Wind: Variable in direction to northly, light.
- Temperature: Ranges between (15-21 °C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: There are chances of rain falling from this evening in the areas of Al-Jufra, and it will be moderate to heavy from tomorrow in (Sabha and its surroundings - Adry - Al-Shatea - Mahroqa - Ubari - Murzuq) interspersed with thunderstorms, which may cause water to accumulate in low places and some valleys to flow on. NCM Cautioned that care must be taken.
- Winds: light to moderate northerly to northeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (17-20 °C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to partly cloudy, increasing tomorrow in most areas.
- Wind: Light northeasterly, turning tomorrow to light easterly.
- Temperature: Ranging between (19-20°C).
