The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected rainy weather in most areas of the northwest and will be good to heavy today accompanied by thunderstorms and extending south to Ghadames and Hamada and their surroundings, which may cause some local valleys to flow and water to collect in low places and main roads. Temperature will remain relatively moderate during the day in most areas of the north, while they will be high in the far south.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Monday, October 21, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds to multiply from time to time in the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Al-Jafara Plain and the Nafusa Mountain, with a chance of scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms at times, and will be good to heavy today in some areas, which will cause some local valleys to flow and water to collect in low places.
- Wind: Northeasterly to easterly, gradually turning to southeasterly, moderate to active in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (20-27°C) in most areas and up to (31°C) in Sirte and Abu Najim and do not exceed (19°C) in Nalut.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds, sometimes increasing in most areas.
- Wind: Easterly to southeasterly, moderate in speed, turning to northeasterly in the evening.
- Temperature: Range in most areas between (24-30°C). However, it will reach (32°C) in Ras Lanuf.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Chance for rain to fall in the regions of Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames and Hamada, where clouds will sometimes increase in most regions, and the rain will be good in Ghadames, Hamada and their surroundings, and may be accompanied by cells of thunderclouds.
- Wind: Easterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active, which caused dust to be stirred up in some regions.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (32-36°C), not expected to exceed (21°C) in Ghadames.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds appear in the areas of Wahat, Sarir, Tazerbo and Kufra, and increase in Jaghbub and Sarir.
- Wind: Northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (29-31°C).
