The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected, Monday, that thunderstorms will continue to multiply from time to time in the far south and some northern regions, while temperature to increase starting from today in the western regions.
The weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Monday, September 2, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to partly cloudy, and thunderstorms will multiply from tomorrow evening in the Nafusa mountain regions and its south with a chance of good rain, which may cause floods and the flow of some local valleys.
- Wind: Northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active due to the effect of descending winds from thunder cells.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (32-34°C) in coastal areas. It will range between (35-38°C) in the interior and record a rise tomorrow.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Good thunderstorms today in the areas of (Al-Marj – Green Mountain - Derna - some interior areas), causing floods and the flow of some local valleys.
- Wind: Northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (29-33°C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Thunderstorms continue to multiply from time to time in the Al-Jufra regions and the border areas with Chad and Niger (Tibesti and Al-Awaynat Mountains ) with scattered rain, which is good, and cause floods and flow of some local valleys..
- Wind: Easterly to southeasterly, light to moderate speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (38-41°C). expected to record a rise tomorrow
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Thunder clouds continue to multiply from time to time in the border areas with Sudan and Chad (Tibesti and Al-Awaynat Mountains - Al-Sara - South Al-Kufra) with scattered rain, sometimes good, causing floods and local valleys flow.
- Wind: Northwesterly to Northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active due to the effect of descending winds from thunder cells.
- Temperature: Ranging between (37-41°C).
