The National Center of Meteorology (NCM), expected the low pressure centred in southern Italy, accompanied by cooling in the upper layers of the atmosphere, starting this evening, will affect the northwestern regions of the country with a drop in temperature and relatively active wind with occasional cloud growth, interspersed with scattered rain in the areas extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - some areas of the Nafusa Mountains - Msallata and its surroundings - Tarhuna and its surroundings, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms.
The National Center for Meteorology expected in its daily bulletin that rain will be moderate to heavy, especially in some areas extending from Tripoli to Khums, which may cause water to accumulate in low-lying areas, while the weather in the rest of Libya will be relatively moderate today, especially in the central and southern regions.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Sunday, January 12, 2025, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds will increase from time to time, accompanied by thunderstorms in the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Jafara Plain and the Nafusa Mountains, interspersed with scattered rain starting this evening, and will be moderate to heavy, especially in some areas extending from Tripoli to Khums, which may cause water to accumulate in low places.
- Wind: Southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate in speed, sometimes active in some areas.
- Temperature: Ranges in most areas between (16-22°C), and is expected to record a decrease starting this evening.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to partly cloudy in the Gulf areas and the Benghazi Plain to Emssad, and clouds are expected to increase from time-to-time starting Tuesday, interspersed with scattered rain.
- Wind: Southwesterly to southerly, moderate in speed, sometimes active in some areas, turning to northwesterly on Tuesday.
- Temperature: Ranges between (17-23 °C), and is expected to record a decrease starting Tuesday.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to partly cloudy in the areas of Al-Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames and Hamada, and it is expected to increase tomorrow in Ghadames, Hamada and Al-Jufra.
- Wind: Southwesterly is variable in direction, and light is moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (19-23 °C), and expected to record a decrease from tomorrow in most areas.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds will appear in the areas of the oases, Sarir, Tazerbo and Kufra.
- Wind: Southwesterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (20-23°C), and expected to record a slight increase tomorrow.
