The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected, Sunday, clouds to increase in some areas of the northeast and the far south, with scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms, and temperature will gradually rise starting tomorrow in most western areas.
The weather conditions in Libya, Sunday, September 1, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Partly cloudy, while thunderstorms will sometimes increase in some areas of the interior.
- Wind: Northeasterly to easterly, light to moderate in speed, gradually turning tomorrow morning to southeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (30-35°C). It will gradually increase starting tomorrow.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds will increase from time to time in the areas of the Green Mountain and the far east coast, with scattered rain sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms.
- Wind: Northwesterly to northerly, moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (28-32°C). It is expected to rise up to 34 °C in Ajdabiya and Ras Lanuf.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds multiply from time to time with the possibility of light rain falling on Al-Jufra and Al-Shuwayrif, and it is expected to be good accompanied by thunder cells on the border areas with (Chad and Niger) and south of Al-Qatrun, which may cause some valleys to flow.
- Wind: Eastern to southeast, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (36-40°C), expected to record a gradual rise from tomorrow in Ghadames and Al-Hamada.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds increase from time to time over the border areas (Tibesti, Al -Awaynat and Al-Sara Mountains) with scattered rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms at times.
- Wind: Variable direction to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (36-39°C).
