The National Meteorological Center (NCM) expected the weather to be cloudy and changeable, with high and low temperature in the northwestern region, with light rain showers in some areas. Active wind will cause dust storms today in most northern regions (northwestern regions, the Gulf, and the Benghazi Plain), causing occasional reduced horizontal visibility in some areas.
The NCM expected in its daily bulletin that the weather will be relatively stable and moderate on Friday across most parts of the country.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Thursday, April 17, 2025, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Jafara Plain - Nafusa Mountain (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Partly cloudy today in the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Jafara Plain and the Nafusa Mountains, with light showers of rain falling in some areas.
- Wind: Southeasterly to southwesterly, moderate to active in speed today, stirring up dust and sand, which may cause a decrease in horizontal visibility. Tomorrow, it will turn to northwesterly, moderate in speed, with an improvement in weather conditions.
- Temperature: Ranges in most areas between (26- 33°C), and today will be between (34-39°C) on the rest of the regions, and expected to record a decline starting this evening and a marked decrease tomorrow.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds to occasionally increase over the Gulf region and the Benghazi Plain, reaching Emssad.
- Wind: Southeasterly to easterly, moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand, which may reduce horizontal visibility in the Gulf regions and the Benghazi Plain. They will turn northwesterly and active in most areas tomorrow evening.
- Temperature: Ranges between (23-30 °C) in the Green Mountain region and up to the far eastern coast, while they will range between (32–35°C) in the Gulf region and the Benghazi Plain, with a decrease starting Friday.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds will also increase from time to time over the Al-Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames, and Hamada regions.
- Wind: Southeasterly, light to moderate, and may become active in some areas, potentially causing dust and sand to be stirred up..
- Temperature: Ranging between (35-38°C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazerbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds will appear over the oases, Sarir, Tazerbo, and Kufra.
- Wind: Easterly, light to moderate.
- Temperature: Ranging between (29-33°C).
