The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected, Thursday, good to heavy rain in the southeastern regions and some northwestern regions, accompanied by thunderstorms.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Thursday, August 29 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Scattered rain this afternoon, interspersed with thunderstorms in some coastal areas extending from Al-Zawiya to Sirte and the mountain areas, especially Gharyan, Mizda, Nesma, Tarhuna, Emsalata and Bani Walid and their surroundings. It is expected to be good rain in some interior areas; causing some local valleys to flow, as a result NCM warned the public to be more cautious.
- Wind: Northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active in some areas.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (31-37°C).
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds multiplying from time to time, which may be accompanied by light rain.
- Wind: Northeasterly to northerly, light to moderate speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (31-37°C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds multiply from time to time on the border areas with Niger, accompanied by thunderstorms that will reach the city of Al-Qatrun and its surroundings tomorrow evening.
- Wind: Northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (38-41°C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms on the mountains of Tibesti, Tazerbo and the border area with Chad, causing some local valleys to flow. NCM warned the public to be cautious.
- Wind: Northeasterly, moderate in speed, sometimes active.
- Temperature: Ranging between (36-41°C).
