The National Center of Meteorology (NCM), expected the weather to remain unchanged today in most parts of the country, with clouds occasionally increasing in the northern regions, sometimes accompanied by light rain in some coastal areas and the Green Mountain. Chances of rain will be better starting tomorrow evening in the northwestern regions.
The NCM expected in its daily bulletin that the southeasterly wind will gradually become active from this evening in the southwestern regions to include the northwestern regions tomorrow, causing dust and sand to be stirred up, and may lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility with a slight increase in temperature. The wind will change from Saturday to westerly, then northwesterly, and the weather will improve with a decrease in temperature in the western regions of the country.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Thursday, February 06, 2025, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds expected to increase from time to time over the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Jafara Plain and the Nafusa Mountains, with the possibility of light rain falling on the coastal areas from Misrata to Sirte. The opportunity will be better tomorrow evening over most areas, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
- Wind: Variable direction, light to moderate northeasterly, turning tomorrow to moderate to active southeasterly, causing dust and sandstorms in some areas, then turning on Saturday to southwesterly, then westerly, moderate to active.
- Temperature: Temperature will range in most areas between (15-19°C), and will increase tomorrow, then decrease on Saturday.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds to increase from time to time over the Gulf areas and the Benghazi Plain to Emssad, interspersed with light rain, especially in the Green Mountain areas.
- Wind: Northeasterly, moderate.
- Temperature: Ranges between (14-19 °C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Partly cloudy in the areas of Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames and Hamada, and clouds will increase tomorrow evening in Ghadames and Hamada with the possibility of scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
- Wind: Easterly to southeasterly, moderate in speed, sometimes active in some areas, causing dust and sand to be stirred up, turning to northwesterly on Saturday.
- Temperature: Ranging between (20-24°C), an increase expected to be recorded tomorrow in Ghat.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazerbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds will appear in the areas of the Oases, Sarir, Tazerbo and Kufra.
- Wind: Northeasterly to easterly, moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (18-20°C).
