The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expects that the hot air mass is still affecting the western regions of the country (both north and south), where temperature during the day is expected to range between (35-40°C). The effect of the hot air mass during the next two days will be (a heat wave) and the temperature is expected to range between (38-43°C).
The northeastern region will witness a relative rise in temperature starting tomorrow, however, it will decrease slightly and temporarily on Friday in (the far northwestern coastal regions).
The weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Tuesday, 14 May 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: few clouds.
- Wind: southeasterly to southwesterly moderate, changing tomorrow evening to northeasterly on the coast.
- Temperature: Ranges between (35-40 °C). it is expected to record an increase over most areas.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to few clouds.
- Wind: Will vary in direction to southeasterly light in speed, gradually turning tomorrow to a moderate to active southwesterly.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (28-35°C) expected to gradually increase over the next two days.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds increase over southern regions, but will be few over Al-Jufra, Sebha, Ghat, Ghadames, and Al-Hamada.
- Wind: Southeasterly, light to moderate
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (35-40 °C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds will appear over the area.
- Wind: will change in direction to a light northeasterly, turning to a southeasterly tomorrow.
- Temperature: Ranging between (31-34 °C), and will gradually rise over the next two days in most areas.
