The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected, Wednesday, thunderstorms on the southeastern regions, and clouds will increase from time to time in some northern regions with a chance of scattered rain sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Wednesday, August 28 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clouds will increase from this evening, interspersed with scattered rain in some areas from (south of Tripoli to Misurata - Tarhuna - Maslata - Bani Walid - Mizdah - some mountain areas) accompanied by thunderstorms, and will be good, causing torrents and the flow of some valleys.
- Wind: Northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active due to the effect of descending winds from thunderstorms.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (31-36°C).
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Chance of scattered rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the areas extending from Marj, Green Mountain as well as Derna, and it will be good on the Green Mountain, causing floods and valleys to flow.
- Wind: Northwesterly to Northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (30-34°C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to some clouds.
- Wind: Northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (38-41°C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Thunderstorms, especially in the border areas at Al-Uwaynat-Tibesti Mountains, Al-Sara-Arkanu Mountains-Al-Kufra and its vicinity, and it is expected to be heavy at times, causing some valleys to flow. NCM warned the public to be cautious. This weather is expected to include Tazerbu and its vicinity tomorrow.
- Wind: Northeasterly to variable direction, moderate speed, active as a result of the descending winds from thunderclouds.
- Temperature: Ranging between (35-40°C).
