The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected, most areas in the north of the country to witness occasional moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, especially areas extending from (Ras Ajdir to Sirte and the surrounding areas – interior areas - Tarhuna - Meslata - Gharyan and some areas of the Nafusa Mountains - Ajdabiya and the Gulf areas - Benghazi Plain - Marj - Al-Bayda - Shahat - Derna - Bomba Gulf), which could cause water to accumulate in low places and may lead to the flow of torrents and valleys, with hail falling on some areas.
The National Center of Meteorology expected in its daily bulletin that the weather will remain cold and wintery in most areas of the country with active to strong wind today in the northern areas with a speed of between (40-70) km/hour, especially the coast, and the wind speed will gradually decrease starting tomorrow.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Rain continues to fall on the areas of Ras Jadir to Sirte, the Jafara Plain and the Nafusa Mountains, from time to time, and is moderate to heavy at times in the areas (the coastal areas extending from Ras Ajdir to Sirte - the interior areas - Tarhuna - Maslata - and some areas of the Nafusa Mountains) accompanied by thunderstorms, which could cause water to accumulate in low places and may lead to the flow of torrents and valleys, with hail falling on some areas.
- Wind: northwesterly, active to strong in speed today, ranging between (40-70) km/hour, and its speed gradually decreases from tomorrow.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (09-15°C).
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Moderate to heavy rainfall interspersed with thunderstorms, especially in the regions (Ajdabiya - Benghazi - Al-Marj - Al-Bayda - Shahat - Derna - Bomba Gulf), which could cause water to accumulate in low places and some local valleys to flow. Care and caution must be taken, with hail falling on some areas.
- Wind: Southwesterly to northwesterly, active in speed and sometimes strong in the Gulf regions and the Benghazi Plain, their speed may reach (60) km/hour.
- Temperature: Ranges between (10-16 °C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds, sometimes increasing in Ghadames and Al-Jufra.
- Wind: Northwesterly, moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (13-15 °C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
Sky condition: Clouds sometimes multiply over the oases but are few over the areas of Sarir, Tazirbo, and Kufra.
- Wind: Southwesterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging between light and moderate.
- Temperature: Ranging between (16-18°C).
