The syndicates at the Libyan Airlines Company as well as the air transport’s labor and syndicate unions issued a statement on Friday condemning the Thursday kidnap of the CEO of the company, captain Fathi Al-Shati.

The statement also called for releasing the CEO Al-Shati; otherwise, the syndicates will go on strike and suspend all the flights until he is freed unharmed.

“We call on all other sectors and aviation syndicates to stand in our support in this distressful period.” The statement goes on.

On Thursday, unknown gunmen stopped Al-Shati’s car on the airport road while he was coming back from work to his house and his whereabouts have not been spotted since.
