Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, discussed on Sunday with Maltese Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Ian Borg, ways to strengthen relations between Libya and Malta across various fields to enhance bilateral cooperation and achieve mutual interests.

The discussion took place during a phone call received by Al-Baour from his Maltese counterpart, during which both sides affirmed the “strength of the friendship and cooperation ties between Libya and Malta,” according to a statement issued by the Libyan ministry.

The two ministers reviewed the trajectory of Libyan-Maltese relations and their notable milestones in growth and development, praising the progress made and affirming both countries’ commitment to advancing the relationship toward broader horizons of partnership and development that meet the aspirations of both peoples.

The call also covered a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with both sides exchanging views in a spirit of understanding and coordination, the statement added.
