A clerk at the Libyan Central Bank (CBL) named Alaa Al-Aqibi has accused the member of the Presidential Council (PC) Fathi Al-Mijibri of threatening him over the latter's involvement in corruption cases.

"I will lodge a lawsuit at the Public Prosecution Office against the one who threatened me." Al-Aqibi said on his Facebook page.

He added that Al-Mijibri resigned from the PC in July 2018 and then tried to appoint himself as the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation. When failed, he tried to return to the PC and demanded 850.000 Libyan dinars as delayed salaries.

"The commander of the Central Region's Petroleum Facilities Guard received 42 million dinars via Al-Mijibri, not to mention other financial violations, like furnishing his office with a million dinars." Al-Aqibi said.

He also indicated that the PC member wrongfully charted planes from Tripoli to Cairo, London, and Rome and used about a million euros for other purposes, let alone taking flight tickets worth over 500.000 euros.

The clerk explained that Al-Mijibri used tens of thousands of euros in agreements that have no biding contracts.

Al-Mijibri resigned from the PC last year after some security apparatuses attempted to arrest him for corruption cases and wastage of public funds.
