The Libyan Defense Minister and Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, signed Tuesday two military agreements with Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. The signing took place in Istanbul following the attendance of Istanbul Air Defense Exhibition 2022.

Hakoometna platform said the first agreement is for raising the efficiency of military air force capabilities in Libya with the help of Turkish expertise in this field, while the second is for implementing protocols for the security agreement signed with Turkey by the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord in 2019.

The two sides held talks at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Istanbul. Dbeibah is accompanied by the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Mohammed Al-Haddad, and from the Turkish side, there were the Turkish Minister of Defense, and the Turkish Chief of General Staff, as well as a number of officers and officials in the two armies. They all discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in different areas.

Sources close to the Government of National Unity said the agreements included the purchase of Bayraktar Akıncı drones (probably 70 drones) as well as other military equipment.
