A team of Libyan experts assigned by the General Information Authority has begun an extended meeting to outline the general framework for the Seventh National Human Development Report 2025, including its themes and chapters.

The opening session of the meeting, which began on Wednesday at the headquarters of the National Information Authority in Tripoli, was attended by the Authority’s President, Abdulbaset Al-Baour, and the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya, Mohamed Saleh.

According to a post by the General Information Authority on Facebook, the two-day meeting includes working sessions that will discuss mechanisms and approaches to developing a shared national vision for the framework of the 2025 Human Development Report, in line with national priorities and their significance. 

The meeting also aims to draft the report’s overall vision, chapter outlines, and to identify the technical and substantive issues to be addressed, in addition to setting cooperation mechanisms with UNDP in Libya for the report’s preparation.

The expert team developing the framework for the Seventh National Human Development Report 2025 includes a number of academics from various Libyan universities and research institutions, as well as specialists in statistics and human development.
