The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Al-Taher Al-Baour, received on Monday the Ambassador of Sudan to Libya, Ibrahim Mohammed Ahmed, in a meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

Both sides reaffirmed the deep historical ties that bind Libya and Sudan and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in various fields. They also discussed regional developments of mutual interest and ways to coordinate on these issues.

The meeting also addressed the situation of Sudanese displaced persons in Libya. The Sudanese ambassador expressed his appreciation to the State of Libya and the Government of National Unity for their efforts in supporting Sudanese displaced persons and providing them with the necessary assistance. They also discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation to register the displaced persons and facilitate their return to their homeland.

This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening diplomatic communication between the two countries, reflecting their commitment to developing bilateral relations and joint cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two countries.
