Libyan government officials have agreed to form a committee to follow up the issues of Libyans abroad after the announcement of suspending flights to Libya over Coronavirus concerns in addition to urgently pay state employees' salaries for January and February.

The meeting on Sunday was attended by the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj, Governor of Central Bank of Libya Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, Head of Audit Bureau Khalid Shakshak, Head of Administrative Control Authority Sulaiman Al-Shanti, Speaker of Tripoli-based House of Representatives Hamouda Sayala and Head of High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri.

The media office of the High Council of State said a package of preventive measures was approved by the officials amid the outbreak of Coronavirus across the world.

It also said that the meeting saw agreement on forming a committee to follow up on the issues of the Libyan nationals trapped abroad. The committee is made up from Deputy Interior Minister, Deputy Health Minister and Deputy Transportation Minister. The priority of the committee would be for patients on medical treatment overseas.

The officials agreed to distribute the financial arrangements to the budget articles so that basic commodities and services as well as medicines can be available at all times, let alone following up the security and military status quo to provide the needed assistance for defending Tripoli against the offensive of Khalifa Haftar's forces.
