The Libyan Ground Handling Company has suspended work in a total strike at all Libyan airports except Tripoli-based Mitiga Airport.

The Friday decision of the strike will go on until further notice and will cripple work at the included airports in full, according to the Facebook page of the company, which said it will end the strike once the delayed salaries of the workers are paid out.

Both Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways airliners will have to suspend flights in those airports.

The workers of the company organized strikes at airports of Misrata, Sabha and others calling for payment of their delayed salaries in all cities, not in some of them.

Libyan Airlines said it had canceled all of its flights on Friday at all airports except for Mitiga Airport, pointing out that the Misrata Airport scheduled flights will take off from Mitiga.

The workers of the Libyan Ground Handling Company went on a partial strike in some of the airports across Libya while they went on a full strike at others last month, however; they ended the strikes after they had promises of payment made to them by officials.

The UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council deputy, Ahmed Mitig, had previously told the Financial Minister to issue an order for the paying out of the salaries for the Libyan Ground Handling Company workers as per a previous ordinance by the Presidential Council.
