The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, urged all parties to make concessions for the elections to be held on time, calling on them to support what's best for Libya over partisan interests.

In a speech at the opening of the High National Elections Commission's media center in Tripoli on Sunday, Dbeibah said his government will commit to the deadline of elections and whatever decisions are made regarding the process, urging all Libyans to partake in this democratic process.

Dbeibah said opening the voter registration system is a positive step by the High National Elections Commission ahead of fair and transparent elections that should be held on time.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, said everyone agrees on holding elections, even if they disagree on marginal matters, adding that Libya is in a race against time, hoping that the conflict will be inside the ballots boxes not outside of them.

In the meantime, the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh, said he hopes the High National Elections Commission will continue with its efforts and preparations as per the deadline to make room for the upcoming democratic process of the general elections that were set by the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, urging the High National Elections Commission not to pay attention to the spoilers who are trying to impede elections.

The Libyan High National Elections Commission opened Sunday the voter registration system and said it will be closed on July 31 ahead of the general elections on December 24.
