The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, and Minister of Defense Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, reaffirmed the government's readiness to support and enhance military cooperation with Senegal, stressing the need for joint action to confront security challenges in the region.
This came during a meeting in Tripoli on Monday with the Senegalese Minister of the Armed Forces, Biram Diop, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, and the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance military cooperation between Libya and Senegal, discuss areas of military training, cooperation to confront security challenges in the region, and the file of opening the Senegalese embassy in the capital, Tripoli, and the importance of this in enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries.
It added that the Senegalese minister expressed, during the meeting, his country's aspiration to deepen military cooperation with Libya in various fields, especially in the field of military training and joint maneuvers, stressing the importance of coordination to confront security challenges in the region, and stressed the vital role of bilateral cooperation in enhancing regional stability.
