The Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) has reported a surge in activity at its port in Misrata, as it ramps up operations to meet growing local and international market demands.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page, LISCO confirmed the arrival of the Winning Práctica, a bulk carrier from Brazil loaded with approximately 160,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets. The vessel docked on Friday evening, with unloading operations currently underway.

The company also reported the simultaneous loading of 29,000 tonnes of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) onto the KEREM, which is expected to set sail for Spain upon completion.

Additionally, 4,000 tonnes of hot-rolled steel coils are being loaded onto the FEHN LyRA, bound for European markets.

LISCO said the flurry of import and export activity highlights its operational readiness and underscores its strategic role in supporting Libya’s national economy and expanding export reach.
