The Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has declared the entire Tripoli region as liberated, saying it has retaken control of all the administrative borders of Greater Tripoli as Khalifa Haftar's forces flee toward Tarhouna and Bani Walid.

The spokesman for the Libyan Army Mohammed Gununu confirmed Thursday the control of the capital and all of its southern districts, including Wadi Rabea, Ain Zara and Qasir Benghashir.

The liberation of south Tripoli districts, after 14 months of fighting, saw a full circle once GNA forces entered Thursday morning Wadi Rabea, Souq Al-Ahad and Qasir Benghashir, thus eliminating the presence of Haftar's forces from the entire region of Greater Tripoli.

The GNA Defense Minister, Salah Al-Namroush, told reporters that the Libyan Army had defeated Haftar's forces who fled to Bani Walid town in southeast Tripoli, saying: "the terrorist militias had been defeated".

According to the Volcano of Rage Operation under the command of the GNA, Libyan Army forces will continue to advance on the fleeing Haftar's forces to Sabea district and Fum Molgha checkpoint inside the administrative borders of Tarhouna, Haftar's latest safe haven in western Libya.

The operation said that GNA's anti-terrorism force had seized, in Wadi Rabea, a depot of ammunition, five military vehicles, three armored vehicles, seven tanks and three soldiers vehicles as well as three artillery launchers.

This liberation comes one day after the seizure of Tripoli International Airport by the GNA forces, who pushed - since Wednesday morning - Haftar's forces along with African mercenaries seen fleeing with them in social media posts, further and further away from all administrative borders of Greater Tripoli region.
