Fresh skirmishes between the Petroleum Facilities Guard, Ibrahim Jodran's de facto armed groups and IS militants broke out Thursday around Ras Lanouf terminal in eastern Libya.

Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation said a number of Harouge (VIBA) oil storage tanks in Ras Lanouf were set on fire due to the IS shelling. It described the situations there as a disaster.

A pipeline connecting Amal Oil Field with Ras Lanouf terminal was also damaged in the shelling, reports say. No casualties were reported.

Earlier this month, IS militants launched two attacks on Sidra Oil Port but their attempt to capture the port failed.
