Representatives from the House of Representatives (HoR), the High Council of State (HCS), and the Presidential Council (PC) have reached key agreements on resolving the ongoing crisis at the Central Bank, according to a statement from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Monday.

The talks, aimed at restoring confidence in the institution among Libyans and international partners, were described as "significant" by the mission.

UNSMIL reported that delegates from the HoR and the HCS have agreed to submit their understandings to their respective bodies for consultation, with further discussions planned for Tuesday to finalize the agreement.

The UN mission hosted separate meetings between representatives of the HoR, the HCS, and the PC, focusing on the issues surrounding the Central Bank.

Earlier, HoR member Hadi Al-Saghir announced that the two sides had agreed on a mechanism to resolve the dispute over the Central Bank Governor. The agreement also includes forming a temporary committee to oversee the bank's operations and procedures.

Al-Saghir noted that the deal, reached after both sides made concessions, represents a first-time merger of the old and new Central Bank boards. The final agreement is expected to be announced on Tuesday after being reviewed by the leadership of both councils.
