The Libyan Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has condemned the use of Khalifa Haftar's forces of the ceasefire to commit provocative acts such as those happened in Sirte and Traghen over the last two days.

The Presidential Council said in a statement it was concerned about reports of wide arrest campaigns and assaults as well as murders of civilians in Sirte, just like what Haftar's outlaw forces did in other cities.

It also condemned the assault on municipal elections polling stations in Traghen by Haftar's forces, who reject democracy and advocate for autocracy, saying this wasn't the first time Haftar's forces violate ceasefire agreements in broad daylight.

"We vow to take action against these crimes and violations and we will do our jobs to protect people and help Libya achieve peace and stability away from militias that are escalating tensions in areas under their control and blockading oil, bringing foreign mercenaries and rejecting all peaceful solutions." The Presidential Council indicated.

It called on the UNSMIL and international community to document these violations as they hinder political process, consolidation of ceasefire and democratic transition in Libya.
