Libya's Ambassador to the United Nations Ibrahim Dabbashi has been sacked.

Hatem Al-Arabi, the spokesperson of the eastern government of Abdullah Al-Thani said Thursday the decision of Dabbashi dismissal was based on a detailed complaint from the chairman of the parallel National Oil Corporation, Naji Al-Maghrabi, who claimed that Dabbashi is exerting efforts to obstruct and deactivate the work of the oil corporation.

The government of Abdullah Al-Thani has set up a headquarters for the NOC in the city of Benghazi so as to become a parallel body to the official NOC in the capital Tripoli, in a bid to collect crude oil revenues and to conclude new contracts for the sale of oil and gas.
