Chairperson of the National Committee for Sustainable Development at the House of Representatives, Rabia Bouras, has discussed with the Speaker of the Maltese Parliament Angelo Farrugia, several issues of common interest to both countries.
Both sides discussed at the Maltese Parliament ways of coordinating joint work to face challenges in the Mediterranean region for the interest of the peoples of the region, according to the Libyan HoR Media Office.
The meeting also focused on the importance of the role of the House of Representatives in promoting democracy and peaceful rotation of power, through its role in supporting presidential and legislative elections through transparent and fair process.
The Speaker of the Maltese Parliament reaffirmed during the meeting his support and desire to cooperate with the Libyan House of Representatives to help solve the political crisis that Libya is going through.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides stressed the continuation of cooperation and strengthening the role of parliaments, in helping their countries, towards stability, development and peace.
