Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has mourned the mayor of Sabha, Al-Shawish Ghorbal, who passed away on Saturday in Tunisia after a long illness.
Dbeibah offered his condolences in a message he shared on Twitter, expressing his gratitude to the deceased for his dedicated service to his city and people.
Ghorbal came into office on January 23, 2020, following local council elections in Sabha.
As his health was deteriorating, Ghorbal was forced to stay on the move between Tunisia and Italy to receive treatment. Ibrahim Hamid took over the role of interim mayor as the former mayor was no longer able to perform his duties.
