‎The member of the House of Representatives (HoR) Hassan Al-Zarqa said that the committees that representatives of the House of Representatives and the High State Council agreed to form during their meeting in the Moroccan city of Bouznika have begun their work, adding that the goal of the attendees is to form a government that will pave the way for the elections and removal of the parallel government and the government of national unity.

Al-Zarqa explained in a press statement on Sunday that the committees will set out their vision to address the issues that have previously obstructed the election procedures, especially the provision of resources for the national census project. He added that the meeting held last Wednesday consolidated the national forces’ regaining the initiative to resolve the political crisis, away from any international interference.

He considered that the outcomes of Bouznika do not obstruct the recent initiative put forward by the Acting UN Envoy Stephanie Koury, adding that "the agreement is a plan that supports the initiative, but we reject Koury's call to form an advisory committee to resolve the pending issues in the two election laws."

He called on the mission to focus on "helping Libyans achieve their rights, by supporting national solutions, not tampering with laws passed by an elected legislative authority, especially the National Elections Commission, which said that these laws are enforceable."

The final statement of the meeting in Bouznika stressed that ending the transitional phase must pass through free elections based on the laws drafted by the joint committee 6+6, welcoming cooperation with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to resolve the crisis.
