The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has affirmed Libya’s keenness to exercise its role as an active member in the Islamic Organization for Food Security, which leads to achieving the goals for which it was established.

This came during his meeting with the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Yerlan Baidaulet, who gave a full briefing on the work of the organization, which is affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and is based in capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana.

Baidaulet reviewed the results of his visits to a number of African countries, appreciating Libya's role in supporting development in Africa, and presented a number of proposals that enhance food security in a number of Islamic countries, according to the Presidential Council media office.

At the end of the meeting, Menfi attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of National Unity and the Islamic Organization for Food Security.
