The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Wednesday with the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the security file in southern Libya, as Menfi considered it a Libyan and Algerian national security.

This came during a joint press conference between the two sides, during which Menfi said that his talks with the Algerian side dealt with the opening of the border crossing between the two countries during this period.

Menfi expressed his aspiration for an active role for Algeria in national reconciliation, which is one of the most important points of the political agreement to reach the elections, stressing that Tebboune recommended his absolute support for the Algerians.

The two sides discussed what Libya has achieved so far in unifying institutions and the military establishment, expressing their desire for joint technical and security cooperation.
