The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, participated in the summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held on Thursday, in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
The media office of the Head of the Presidential Council said that the summit, which is being held under the auspices of the President of Azerbaijan, was devoted to discussing the issue of the post-pandemic period of Coronavirus, in the presence of a number of heads of states.
The summit will discuss the short and long-term measures taken by governments to protect their citizens from the negative economic effects of the pandemic and stimulate economic growth after the pandemic, as well as the growing challenges and threats to international security and stability.
Meanwhile, Menfi said that Libya needs support from the United Nations' agencies in order to limit the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on various service and production sectors, adding that the pandemic threatens poor and least developed countries, which are going through armed conflicts and instability, and need to improve their fragile health systems.
