Presidential Council (PC) head, Mohamed Menfi, has received a formal letter from Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, reaffirming Doha’s support for Libya’s political reconciliation efforts.
The letter was handed over by Qatar’s ambassador to Libya, Khaled Al-Dosari, during a meeting in Tripoli on Wednesday.
According to the PC’s media office, the message conveyed the Qatari leadership’s congratulations on Menfi’s return to Libya after a medical trip abroad, and expressed wishes for his continued recovery.
Talks during the meeting focused on the latest political developments in Libya and avenues for enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
Qatar also reiterated its endorsement of the Presidential Council’s role in mediating between rival Libyan factions and stressed the importance of reaching a peaceful resolution to the country’s prolonged crisis.
