Menfi reviews financial, administrative settlements and army personnel’s salaries
The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, who is also the Chief Commander of the Libyan Army, met Sunday with the Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who is also a Defense Minister, and the Chief of General Staff Mohammed Al-Haddad in addition to a number of military officials in Tripoli to discuss the latest security and military developments in the country.
The Presidential Council said in a statement that the meeting also went over the financial and administrative settlements as well as the salaries of the army personnel as per the bylaws of the military service, in addition to discussing hindrances to the organizational work of the military units and how to resolve them so they can operate properly.
Meanwhile, the issue of the salaries of the army personnel is one of the complicated matters faced by the Government of National Unity and led to the disapproval of budget for the government by the House of Representatives (HoR).
Khalifa Haftar supporters at the HoR insist that the government pays the salaries of Haftar’s forces as per their own lists without further validation, while Dbeibah, Audit Bureau and Central Bank of Libya top officials insist on having lists of the forces’ personnel accompanied by their national identification numbers for more credibility.
