The Minister of Economy has rejected a request submitted by the Prime Minister to cancel the commercial registration granted to the Libyan Post Telecommunications & Information Technology Company (LPTIC) Head Faisal Qarqab.

In a formal letter circulated online, the Prime Minister's office says that the procedures followed in granting the commercial registration to Faisal Qarqab on January 5 run contrary to the legal measures.

"We inform you of the need to correct the incorrect actions taken in this respect," the letter read.

It called on the Economy and Trade Minister to maintain the previous commercial registration issued by PM Abdul Hamid Dbeibah in his capacity as the head of the LPTIC general assembly to the company’s new president Muhammad bin Ayyad.

The PM's office insisted that the action taken in this regard by the Economic Minister is not within the mandate of his ministry but of the judiciary competence.
