A delegation from the Ministry of Interior headed by the Undersecretary of Public Affairs, Major General Mahmoud Saeed, toured on Saturday the Misrata Port to follow up on the progress of work at its facilities.
The Interior Ministry's official listened to adequate explanations about the mechanism of work and the security measures concerning the departure and arrival of passengers.
Officials at the port briefed Major General Saeed on the latest technical equipment for inspecting vehicles, luggage, and passenger terminals.
In a press statement, the undersecretary stressed the ministry's keenness to make this project a success and overcome all problems and challenges to reduce travel burdens on citizens.
He also visited the Misrata Free Zone and got an insight into its work, including security measures at the entrances and exits of the free zone and its plans to prevent overlap in the competencies within the security services.
