The Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, has discussed with the head of the mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting dealt with the mechanisms of organizing and settling the conditions of foreign workers after the recent events that occurred during the past week, according to the government's directives in particular and with regard to the tasks of the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation.
The two sides discussed enhancing joint cooperation in a number of projects, including the "labour market information system project" and the "labour cities proposal”, which will contribute to the organization, and follow-up of expatriate workers, according to the ministry's plans in this regard.
During the meeting, they agreed to prepare a round table for the ambassadors of labour-exporting countries in Libya to study and discuss ways to settle the labour conditions of these countries inside Libya.
They also agreed to start the project of organizing foreign workers in municipalities and starting with the municipality of Janzour as an experimental model before it was officially launched in all municipalities.
