The Misrata-led forces have advanced into IS-controlled 600 Buildings neighborhood in Sirte to close in on IS militants, who are still hiding out in parts of the neighborhood, military sources from the city reported.
The sources added that the Misrata-led forces advanced Thursday using heavy artillery and weapons, while IS militants barely resisted.
On the other hand, the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) revealed that its warplanes carried out 330 airstrikes on IS locations and gatherings as well as military vehicles up until October 18.
“We have conducted 330 air attacks on IS in Sirte from the beginning of August until October 18.” AFRICOM wrote on its official website.
