The Salvation Government announced Tuesday that Moroccan Nationals will now need to obtain visas to enter Libya, pointing out that the Passports and Citizenship Authority is going to put forth the necessary procedures to start working with the new decision.

Formerly, Libya cancelled the requirement of visa that was imposed on all Moroccans coming to the country, which led to the arrival of huge numbers of Moroccan nationals in Libya all bound to Europe as Libya has become a jumping off illegal immigration spot to Europe.

Last January, Algerian authorities arrested more than 200 Moroccan nationals in Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers as they were on the way to Libya upon security doubts because of the unprecedented influx of Moroccan nationals into Libya without even having residence cards or work contracts.
