The commander of the 71 border guards Brigade, Muftah Hamza, said the Libyan army officers, who attended the Sixth Libyan Army Gathering and make up 75% of all Libyan cities, won’t edit their final statement issued in the gathering, adding that they are going to rather implement it.

“The alteration of our final statement by the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government speaks for itself only and will hardly affect the Libyan army officers’ agreement.” Hamza added.

He also pointed out that the military councils in all of the Libyan municipalities second the words of the statement that was issued in the Sixth Gathering, adding that Misrata military council issued a statement saying it agreed with the army officers’ statement.

Last Wednesday, the Sixth Gathering of Libyan Army Officers was held in Tripoli and in its final statement, the attendees agreed on describing Khalifa Haftar as a war criminal, however; on the next day, the Presidential Council issued an edited statement deleting the description of Haftar claiming that this was the real statement of the Sixth Gathering.
