The National Oil Corporation (NOC) denied what it described as the anonymous information referred to in an article in The Sunday Times about the NOC's involvement in the supply of military equipment that was intercepted in Italy.
The NOC was surprised by the interference in its work and reputation and the inclusion of its name in such media materials. It also reaffirmed that it reserved the right to respond and take the necessary legal measures inside and outside Libya against local and international media outlets that published news from unknown sources.
The NOC indicated that all its operations had been carried out with its partners from international oil companies and were subject to review and audit by regulatory bodies such as the Audit Bureau and the Administrative Control Authority.
The Sunday Times published an article in which it mentioned the NOC's involvement in the supply of military equipment - now seized in Italy - coming from China and heading to eastern Libya for the benefit of Khalifa Haftar's forces.
