Members of the mine action department of the National Safety Authority carried out, on Wednesday, operations to destroy Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) which have been endangering the lives of civilians in Tripoli.

The incriminated shelling by Haftar's militias against Tripoli has resulted in extensive contamination from a variety of explosive ordnance and bombs, which landed in urban and densely populated areas.

The ERW were recovered from several neighborhoods of Tripoli, and others from the vicinity of Forest 27, west of Tripoli, said the National Safety Authority, noting that the process was carried out in cooperation with the Relations and Information Office and the ambulance team of the Tripoli branch.

For its part, the Ministry of Interior praised the efforts made by the National Safety Authority teams in tackling the ERW threat and thereby decreasing the risk to life and limb of civilians.
