The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) has expressed deep concern over the media statements issued by military leaders of east Libya and their military deployment in the western region on the pretext of Tripoli liberation.

In a statement on Thursday, the NCHRL said the statements of senior Dignity Operation leaders are regarded as "incitement to violence and civil war and a blow to peace and reconciliation efforts in the western region."

"We refuse these military statements which will plunge the country into a civil war and endanger social peace and security," the NCHRL statement reads.

The NCHRL reiterated its support for peace and dialogue efforts and promotion of peaceful coexistence in the country.

Spokesperson of Dignity Operation Ahmed Al-Mismari instructed in mid-December their armed militias in western Libya to get ready for what he called "the fight to liberate Tripoli."
