The Islamic Research and Studies Council (IRSC) of the Libyan Fatwa House has welcomed a new initiative by some political activists that aims at bringing the current political entanglement to an end and regain stability in the country.

"Out of 60 different proposals for the initiative from different well versed activists, the IRSC picked one that would be of great benefit for the country and the citizens." The Libyan Mufti, Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani, said on Wednesday in his weekly program on Tanasuh TV.

The initiative will revert back to both elections of the General National Congress and House of Representatives and choose 200 individuals, who then got the highest votes' rates to form a new legislature for the country.

According to Sheikh Al-Gharyani, the IRSC saw that the initiative will rescue Libya from the current downfall into chaos and conflict.

"If the international community is so concerned with what could become of Libya and its citizens, then it should support the initiative."

He also urged all the Libyan political stakeholders, municipal councils, and elders as well as all Libyans to rally around the new initiative and support it for a better future for Libya as it is in support of right and is biased to no party.

Libya's Mufti also said that the current UN-proposed government has dramatically failed to provide for and protect Libyans, urging those who are totting arms and using them to horrify people across Libya not to be happy about the international community backup for them as it will backfire on them one day.
