Three guards were killed and others were injured in a gun attack on the central oil port of Al-Sidra on Thursday.

Initial reports say drive-by attackers, believed to be IS-affiliated ones, opened heavy fire using automatic machine guns on the western gate of the port. One attacker was also killed in the exchange of fire with the guards according to reports.

Al-Sidra is Libya's largest oil depot, shipping about 447,000 barrels per day. It's located some 180 km to the east Sirte. The port is controlled by militiaman Ibrahim Jodran.
