The Tripoli port management said Wednesday that Egyptian crewmembers of LADY HALOUM, a Panama-flagged ship, were rescued after the ship ran aground in the port Tuesday due to bad weather.

The manager of Tripoli port, Musbah Al-Habibi, told Libyan News Agency in the capital that the ship, which is operated by an Egyptian crew, was still stuck at port but maintained good conditions as the weather got better on Wednesday.

He said the management of the port had contacted Al-Buri oil port to send boats to help tug the ship from between the rocks where it got stuck, saying the boats would come by Wednesday night.

Tripoli saw a storm of strong wind and heavy rain on Tuesday, which left considerable damage to the port and containers both on the ground and in water.
